The initial word of the piyut זכור את אשר עשה (Davidson, II, p. 212, No. 112) for Shabat Zakhor is framed above and below by grotesques within lozenges. Those in the lozenges to top left and right are fighting with sword and shield. Possibly alluding to the Amalekites fighting the Israelites.
